Marco Rubio promises to reverse Obama’s Action on Guns

December 29, 2015

obama5Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio has promised to reverse President Obamas executive action on guns as soon as he gets into office. In an address Sunday night in New Hampshire, Rubi describes the man he means to replace as someone who tramples on the constitution. Republicans loathe President Obama’s executive actions which circumvent Congress.

“He has waged war on the Constitution,” Rubio said “He is obsessed with gun control.” Obama’s actions are “meant to further erode the Second Amendment” and deny Americans the rights given by God, he told the crowd at Raymond, N.H. “I believe that every single American has a Constitution—and therefore God-given right—to defend themselves and their families,”

Rubios statements represent what has become a broad level of mistrust of Obama’s Presidency.

“Law-abiding gun owners are not the problem in this country. The problem are criminals, and criminals don’t care what laws you pass,” Rubio said. “You can pass all the gun laws in the world that you want. It will not stop the criminals.”

He also pointed out that the shooters in San Bernardino, Calif would have passed these tougher laws. Making this new executive action pointless while making it harder for people to buy, sell and own guns.

If Marco Rubio does become president, gun advocates will not need to worry. “Don’t worry,” Rubio said. “On my first day in office, behind that desk, don’t worry, those orders are gone.” It will be certainly one of many executive actions that will be undone.
